Two gold finch were sitting on fence
Relaxing and no longer tense
Just chirping and singing their song
When they saw a farmer come along
Watching the farmer tending and hoeing
Observing the plants all growing
Looking for their next tasty meal
The anticipation was growing and real
The farmer would finish his work
Those two birds would sit and lurk
Hoping to get some seeds when he left
They would hop down and begin the theft

The farmer would soon leave
They were famished and could now feed
