Many men would be called to serve
The union they were trying to preserve
The soldiers would form a pact
Each on performing a heroic act
They gathered supplies of cannons, bayonets and guns
The war had officially begun
The soldiers would stock the ammunitiion
They were on an important mission
North side started the raid
South side would soon invade
Infantry, cavalry, artillery and band
Many soldiers marched across the land
Blue would come upon a gray sighting
The two sides would start fighting
The men would hold the line
Celebrating their win with beer, gin, whiskey and wine
Bullets could be heard whizzing by
Confederates yelling a battle cry
The sound of the cannon’s boom
Death on the horizon would soon loom
Many lives would be lost
Lots of casualties would be the cost
