Tapestry

Life is like a tapestry of cloth woven together by the good time and the bad. We all go through challenges in life and good times. The hard times do make us stronger and more resilient but, they can also break us down if we let them. We must learn to pick ourselves up, stand…

Our children love to play, and it is also a great way for them to learn. There are toys that they can manipulate small things like plastic numbers which build on their fine motor skills. Crayons also build on the fine motor skills of children and puzzles do too. Toys that are push and pull such as cars, trains and carts allow children to use their gross motor skills.

Dolls can teach skills such as caretaking and imagination. Stuffed animals can do the same thing. Things such as plastic dinosaurs allow children to use their imagination and learn about the different dinosaurs as well. Children who use art tools such as paint, markers, pencil, clay, safety scissors and crayons are all learning to use their imagination and fine motor skills.

There are also ride on toys and balls allow children to use their gross motor skills. Plastic gold clubs and balls allow children to coordinate their movement. A Frisbee or bat allows children to coordinate their gross motor skills. Children learn best when you make their environment filled with things that enrich their experience and allow them to explore.

Have fun with your children and allow them to try different things in their environment. Allow them to see what they enjoy doing and make sure those activities are readily available to them.

Very true. I believe that giving children the opportunity to try, and explore, lots of different things builds both physical and mental skills at all ages. Playing with other children also develops their social skills. Gentle guidance can also open up new ideas and help them continue to grow with their toys.
