Teaching Your Children Time

When a child comes into the world they do not know or have the concept of time. They may hear their parents telling them that they need to be at an appointment or an activity by a certain time. It’s never a good idea to hurry our children along constantly or expect them to immediately…

Accentuate Your Children’s Strengths

Children look to their parents for guidance and encouragement. They want to make their parents proud and be successful in life. A parent’s job is to help the children to reach their full potential. Apple Donuts and Apple Cider with the Kids

What’s tastier than sharing apple donuts and apple cider with your kids on a Fall afternoon? You can make these delicious treats with your kids from scratch. Why not take them to the local orchard and let them pick some apples? Your kids will learn the process of how these things are made from start…

Children need to learn to develop their fine motor skills. One way for them to develop their fine motor skills is to allow them to finger paint. Buy some non-toxic paint that is safe for children and some strong white paper for them to use. You will also need to buy some big paint brushes for them to use.

You can also buy a plastic tablecloth to use for the finger painting. Set up a place in your yard to have the kids finger paint. Buy or make them some smocks that they can where them for finger painting. Smocks are a great way to protect their clothing. I would also suggest not allowing them to wear good clothing but put them in play clothing.

You can lay the plastic tablecloth out in the backyard and allow your kids to lay on the grass and paint. There are so many different creative ideas that kids can come up with using the finger paints. Anything from the petals on a flower using each finger to make the petals. You can also make a caterpillar using their fingers dipped in paint or a butterfly. A turkey is another thing that can be made by children dipping their whole hand in the paint. The handprint can be the body of the turkey.

Let your kids decide what they would like to make for their projects. Guiding them is a good item but allowing them to experiment with different colors and let them pick the subject of their painting.
