Healthy Foods and Kids

When kids are little, it can be difficult to get them to eat healthy foods. You might have that picky eater among you that just doesn’t like vegetables, so you have to come up with some ways to get your children to eat healthy. There are so many recipes out there that allow you to…

Backyard Games for Children

When you were growing up, did you play any backyard games? I remember playing some which stick in my mind. There was red light green light. Then there was hide and seek as well as jail break. We played jump rope and hopscotch with the other children in the neighborhood. There was also tag and…

Potty Training

A parent knows that time when potty training takes place and there is the hope that your child will no longer have to wear diapers. There is also some frustration that comes with this stage as well. Your child tries on the potty and then leaks on the floor. They wait too long to use…

Do you remember the days when you were a child and could pick a dandelion that had turned to a puff ball? You could take that dandelion and make a wish by blowing on the puff ball watching the puff disappear in the air. We as children took this activity seriously and thought that if we made a wish on this puff ball it just might come true.

What if we kept that childlike wonder in adulthood? Well of course we all know it isn’t realistic to take a dandelion, blow on it and hope that our wish will materialize. Children do use their imaginations to make wishes and hope that things will come true.

Children pretend play and act out different scenarios. I think imagination by children is one the greatest things that they can have and use. Children are wonderful little human beings full of energy, joy and imagination. Let them create and imagine these are great attributes to take with them into adulthood.

What if we used some of that childlike wonder sometimes in our adult lives to play and explore our world? It would be an incredible experience if sometimes on weekends we used that creative energy and childlike wonder to explore our worlds. Why lose our sense of wonder ? Try to keep that sense of wonder alive in children as well.
