Springtime

Spring is right around the corner! The snow is starting to melt, and the birds are coming out to enjoy the weather on the warmer days. Pretty soon it will be time to plant those flowers in the garden. There are so many different beautiful flowers to choose from. Daffodils, pansies, lilies, tulips and hyacinth…

Language Development in Children

Social and Emotional Development in Children

There are so many different ways to celebrate St. Patrick’s Day. You can go watch a St. Patrick’s Day parade and cook a themed St. Patrick’s Day meal. How about making some soda bread to go with your meal? Guiness stew is a great meal to make for St. Patrick’s Day, and you can add the soda bread you made to go with your meal. Listening to Celtic music or watching Irish dancers is a great way to celebrate the holiday.

Another fun thing you can do is to decorate your home in shamrocks and other St. Patrick’s Day decorations. Dollar Tree has so many interesting finds that are not expensive or Oriental Trading Company has very low prices to pick up some St. Patrick’s Day decorations.

Teaching the children or grandchildren in your household how to make St. Patrick’s Day crafts is another fun family way to celebrate. Three green shaped hearts cut out from construction paper can make a nice shamrock and then add a stem. There are so many simple ideas out there that you can try to make with the kids to make it a fun day. Green clay can be molded into shamrocks or green pipe cleaners can be made into shamrocks by bending them.

Why not leave cute little leprechaun footprints throughout your house by using stickers of feet and let the kids find them. How about a pot of gold coins for those beyond the toddler age? You could fill the pot with plastic gold coins, hide the pot and let the kids find it.

What ways do you celebrate St. Patrick’s Day? Do you go out to eat an Irish meal? Maybe you cook an Irish meal at home with the family. Possibly you make crafts or go to watch a show. However, you celebrate St. Patrick’s Day may the luck of the Irish be with you.
