I’m a fifty something woman who raised two boys and is enjoying the second half of my life. I was a stay-at-home mom for years and I’m now discovering a different side to life. I enjoyed being there for my kids even though the days were hectic I will always cherish them. I’m currently exploring my creative side after working in human services and education for a bit. Hot Air Balloons

I’ve had this fascination with hot air balloons since I was a child. I even had some fabric ones that would hang from my ceiling in my room growing up. I’ve never had the desire to ride in one but, find them to be incredibly beautiful to look at. There is something about a big object like that floating high about everything and the pretty colors that many hot air balloons have can often catch your eye.

I have attended the different festivals that had hot air balloons and got to watch them take off. The noise alone of the balloon filling with hot air and watching the flame is quite amazing.

I have watched them land and once had one land in a cornfield near our home. It was quite an experience to watch this huge ballon come down and land in a cornfield. I don’t think that the operator of the balloon knew they would land in the cornfield. I believe it was an emergency landing. The reason behind it I will never know but, I was close enough to see the operator of the balloon get out of the balloon safely. I watched as the person spotting the balloon followed the balloon to their landing site. It was quite a majestic experience watching something of that size and beauty to land in a cornfield.

If you ever get a chance to go and see hot air balloons I hope you do. I suggest the balloon glow events where you get to watch the balloons glow at night. There is nothing quite like the experience and I highly recommend it.
