If you could make your pet understand one thing, what would it be?

Early Attachment

Children need a consistent caregiver who is empathetic and warm to show up in their lives. Early development and learning are extremely important to children. The early years are when the personality development takes place. By age five years the personality is pretty much formed. Children from the time that they come into the world…

Hot Air Balloons

I’ve had this fascination with hot air balloons since I was a child. I even had some fabric ones that would hang from my ceiling in my room growing up. I’ve never had the desire to ride in one but, find them to be incredibly beautiful to look at. There is something about a big…

Growing your own vegetables

I have often wondered if growing your own vegetables is economical. I do know that growing your own vegetables that are free of pesticides is definitely a healthier version of the vegetables in the store unless you buy organic. You can grow beans, rhubarb, corn, peas, carrots, tomatoes, herbs and many other things. If your…

When you choose a home, you want to make it feel like yours. You can put things that are meaningful to you and reflect your own style. Whether you decide for your home to be country, modern, Victorian or something else you want your home to feel cozy. A home should be a place that can be your own color palette. Maybe you are partial to pastel colors from the Victorian era or maybe you like stark colors that are modern. It’s all an individual choice as to what we put in our homes. You want your style and taste to continue throughout the home making it feel whole. The pictures you hang on the walls should reflect your style; the type of carpet you pick for your rooms should reflect your style. If you are not sure what your style is or even where to start with your decorating, I suggest you purchase some interior decorating magazines. Look through the magazines and find out what appeals to you in them. Start by purchasing small items for the home and grow bigger from there.

Maybe you like country so you go out and buy some curtains that reflect your style. Possibly you like modern interiors so you go and buy a picture that is modern. Start with one room and work your way around to another. Color palettes at paint stores or in magazines can help you decide the colors to paint the walls or maybe you want to wallpaper. Perhaps you just want to keep your walls white and have the art on the walls stand out. It’s possible you want to pick something in the room to be a focal point such as the fireplace or a painting. It’s all a matter of preference and what works for you.

Don’t be afraid to experiment with different colors, styles or textures until you find something that works well for you. Your room should have texture, color and some kind of continuous theme that ties the room together. Enjoy your time creating the atmosphere you would like to have in your home. Happy Decorating.
