Child Development

I studied education and learned about child development. I believe it is important to know how children learn for parents. Jean Piaget came up with different stages of development. Children learn by actively constructing knowledge and going through four distinct stages of cognitive development. The first stage is sensorimotor stage, and this takes place from…

Early Attachment

Children need a consistent caregiver who is empathetic and warm to show up in their lives. Early development and learning are extremely important to children. The early years are when the personality development takes place. By age five years the personality is pretty much formed. Children from the time that they come into the world…

Hot Air Balloons

I’ve had this fascination with hot air balloons since I was a child. I even had some fabric ones that would hang from my ceiling in my room growing up. I’ve never had the desire to ride in one but, find them to be incredibly beautiful to look at. There is something about a big…

It’s interesting how your whole world changes when you become a parent. You went from being able to leave just by getting yourself ready and now you have to get other people ready to leave. You must make sure that they are feed, changed and dressed for the weather. Some of other things that you have to take into consideration is whether you have enough diapers for the trip out or whether the bottle cold and full. These things are just routine when they are infants, toddlers. Maintaining a routine also makes things easier for the children. Making sure you arrange errands around their nap. Bringing toys or a pacifier for the outings to keep them busy

Things change as they get older and so do the worries. When they get older you are worried about things like friendships, grades and whether they have adjusted to college. You worry about who they are hanging out with and hope that they are people that will have a good influence on your kids. You worry about car accidents, allergy shots, girlfriends. I often wonder whether it ever stops even when your children are grown. My boys are in their twenties, and I still worry about them. I worry about car accidents, girlfriends and navigating the working world to make life enjoyable. I don’t think the worry ever stops if you truly care about your kids. They made me grown but, they will still be your kids for life.
